1	Check gap dimensions at tailgate (1).		AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
		Sidewall to liftgate	*BE60.00-P-1013-01LA
		Liftgate to rear bumper	*BE60.00-P-1016-01LA
		Outside of taillamp to inside of taillamp	*BE60.00-P-1018-01LA
		Liftgate to roof	*BE60.00-P-1025-01LA
		Feeler gauge	Fig 1
	Remove
2	Loosen screws (5) on left and right and press stop lugs (6) on left and right back completely.
3	Remove rear-end center-section trim.		AR68.30-P-4786ME
4	Remove lock striker (8).
5	Remove drive unit of trunk lid/tailgate control on the left/right (M51/5, M51/3) of the tailgate (1).		AR80.40-P-7511ME
		Do not support tailgate with support. Aid of helper required.
	Adjust in x-direction (X)
6	Release screws (2) at left and right hinge (4).
7	Adjust tailgate in x-direction (X).	Aid of helper required.
		Sidewall to liftgate	*BE60.00-P-1013-01LA
		Liftgate to rear bumper	*BE60.00-P-1016-01LA
		Outside of taillamp to inside of taillamp	*BE60.00-P-1018-01LA
		Liftgate to roof	*BE60.00-P-1025-01LA
		Feeler gauge	Fig 1
8	Tighten released screws (2) at hinges (4).	Aid of helper required.
		Bolt, hinge to liftgate	*BA72.20-P-1005-02J
9	Repair paintwork damage at screws (2) using suitable touch-up paint pen.
	Remove
10	Loosen roof lining and lower it until the screws (3) are accessible.	When the tailgate is being adjusted in y-direction (Y) or z-direction (Z).

		Do not remove the windshield.
	Adjust in Y-direction (Y) and/or Z-direction (Z)
11	Release screws (3) at left and right hinge (4).
12	Adjust tailgate in y-direction (Y) or z-direction (Z).	Aid of helper required. The upper edge of the tailgate must be flush with the roof.

13	Tighten released screws (3) at hinges (4).	Aid of helper required.
		Bolt/nut, hinge for liftgate to body	*BA72.20-P-1008-02J
14	Repair paintwork damage at screws (3) using suitable touch-up paint pen.
	Install
15	Screw in lock striker (8) and position screws (7) up to end stop.
	Adjusting the transitions to the edges of the fenders and the D-pillars
16	Adjust transition between tailgate and edges of rear fender and D-pillars by moving lock strike (8).	The tailgate must be flush with edges of fender and D-pillars. Ensure the tailgate closes correctly.
17	Tighten bolts (7) on lock striker (8).	Screw/bolt, lock striker to body	*BA72.20-P-1006-02J
18	Completely pull out stop lugs (6).
19	Close and re-open tailgate.	Ensure the tailgate closes correctly.
20	Tighten bolts (5).
	Install
21	Install rear-end center-section trim.		AR68.30-P-4786ME
22	Install drive unit of the trunk lid/tailgate control on the left/right (M51/5, M51/3) of the tailgate (1).		AR80.40-P-7511ME
		Aid of helper required.
23	Install headliner.	If the tailgate has been adjusted in y-direction (Y) or z-direction (Z).

	Calibrate
24.1	Calibrate reversing camera.	Model 167.3 with code 218 (Rear view camera) except code 235 (Active Parking Assist)
