INSPECT Check     
1 Check gap dimensions at liftgate (1).   AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
    Liftgate to rear bumper *BE60.00-P-1016-01LA 
    Sidewall to liftgate *BE60.00-P-1013-01LA 
    Outside of taillamp to inside of taillamp *BE60.00-P-1018-01LA 
    Rear spoiler to roof *BE60.00-P-1022-01LA 
    Rear window to rear spoiler *BE60.00-P-1020-01LA 
    Side spoiler to rear side window *BE60.00-P-1023-01LA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
  Adjusting in x-direction (X) and y-direction (Y)     
2 Remove center rear spoiler.   AR72.20-P-4000ME 
3 Release screws (2) at left and right hinge (3).    
4 Adjust liftgate (1) in the x-direction (X) or y-direction (Y).   AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
    IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.  
    Outside of taillamp to inside of taillamp *BE60.00-P-1018-01LA 
    Sidewall to liftgate *BE60.00-P-1013-01LA 
    Liftgate to rear bumper *BE60.00-P-1016-01LA 
    Rear window to rear spoiler *BE60.00-P-1020-01LA 
    Side spoiler to rear side window *BE60.00-P-1023-01LA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
5 Tighten released screws (2) at hinges (3) IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, hinge to liftgate *BA72.20-P-1005-02J 
6 Repair paintwork damage at screws (2) using suitable touch-up paint pen.    
Notice  General notes on touch-up applicators and paint spray cans   AH98.00-P-9409-06A
7 Install center rear spoiler.   AR72.20-P-4000ME 
  Adjusting in Z-direction (Z)     
8 Lower roof lining in area of hinges (3).   AR68.30-P-4300ME
9 Remove left and right damping (4) over screws (5).    
10 Release screws (5) at left and right hinge (3).    
11 Adjust transition between liftgate (1) and roof or panoramic roof in z-direction (Z).   AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
    IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
Upper edge of tailgate (1) must be flush with
roof or panoramic roof.		  
    Rear spoiler to roof *BE60.00-P-1022-01LA 
    Outside of taillamp to inside of taillamp *BE60.00-P-1018-01LA 
    Sidewall to liftgate *BE60.00-P-1013-01LA 
    Liftgate to rear bumper *BE60.00-P-1016-01LA 
    Rear window to rear spoiler *BE60.00-P-1020-01LA 
    Side spoiler to rear side window *BE60.00-P-1023-01LA 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
12 Tighten screws (5) on hinges (3). IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt/nut, hinge for liftgate to body *BA72.20-P-1008-02J 
13 Repair paintwork damage at screws (5) using suitable touch-up paint pen.    
Notice  General notes on touch-up applicators and paint spray cans   AH98.00-P-9409-06A
14 Install left and right damping (4).    
15 Install headliner.   AR68.30-P-4300ME
  Adjusting gap dimensions of tailgate (1) to bumper and/or tail lamp     
16 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
17 Screw stop buffers (6) fully into tailgate (1).    
18 Adjust stop buffers (6) so that tailgate (1) closes and gap dimensions are adjusted.   AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
    IMPORTANT Stop buffers (6) must be in contact with bodyshell.  
    Rear spoiler to roof *BE60.00-P-1022-01LA 
    Outside of taillamp to inside of taillamp *BE60.00-P-1018-01LA 
    Sidewall to liftgate *BE60.00-P-1013-01LA 
    Liftgate to rear bumper *BE60.00-P-1016-01LA 
    Rear window to rear spoiler *BE60.00-P-1020-01LA 
    Side spoiler to rear side window *BE60.00-P-1023-01LA

19 Carefully close liftgate (1) and open again. IMPORTANT Ensure the liftgate (1) closes correctly. If tailgate (1) does not correctly close,
↓
adjust stop buffers (6) again.		  
  Adjusting the transitions to the edges of the fenders and the D-pillars     
20 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
21 Remove rear-end center-section trim.   AR68.30-P-4786ME
22 Release screws (7) at lock striker (8).    
23 Adjust transitions of tailgate (1) to edges of fenders and D-pillars by moving lock striker
(8).		   AR60.00-P-0900-01ME
    IMPORTANT Liftgate (1) must be flush with edges of fender and D-pillars.  
    Liftgate to rear window *BE60.00-P-1019-01LA 
    Rear spoiler to roof *BE60.00-P-1022-01LA 
    Outside of taillamp to inside of taillamp *BE60.00-P-1018-01LA 
    Sidewall to liftgate *BE60.00-P-1013-01LA 
    Liftgate to rear bumper *BE60.00-P-1016-01LA

24 Tighten bolts (7) on lock striker (8). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, lock striker to body *BA72.20-P-1006-02J 
25 Repair paintwork damage at screws (7) using suitable touch-up paint pen.    
Notice  General notes on touch-up applicators and paint spray cans   AH98.00-P-9409-06A
26 Install rear-end center-section trim.   AR68.30-P-4786ME
  Calibrate     
27 Calibrate reversing camera (B84/3) using vehicle diagnosis system and calibration device. Model 167.1/9
with code 218 (Rear view camera) except code 235 (Active Parking Assist)

28 Calibrate reversing camera 360° system (B84/10) using vehicle diagnosis system and calibration device. Model 167.1/9
with code 501 (360° camera)
