Remove/Install Headliner - AR68.30-P-4300MFA

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove front passenger seat. Model 177.0 AR91.10-P-1000MFA
2 Remove sun visors.   AR68.60-P-5480MFA 
3 Remove overhead control panel control unit (N70).   AR82.20-P-1000MFA
4 Release and disconnect electrical connection (3).    
5 Remove A-pillar trims.   AR68.30-P-4050MFA 
6 Remove top B-pillar trims.   AR68.30-P-4705MFA 
7 Remove C-pillar trims. Model 177.0 AR68.30-P-4491MFA
    Model 243.7, 247.0/7 AR68.30-P-4490MFB 
    Model 243.6, 247.6 AR68.30-P-4490MFX
8 Remove D-pillar trims. Model 243.6, 247.6 AR68.30-P-4497MFX
9 Release edge guard at door cutouts and trunk cutout in working area.    
10 Fold up clothes hooks (5) and remove screws (6). Model 177.0
with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof)
IMPORTANT The number of clothes hooks (5) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.
 
11 Carefully unclip clothes hooks (5) in direction of arrow and release and disconnect electrical connector of left rear interior/reading lamp (E15/12) and/or right rear interior/reading lamp (E15/13). Model 177.0
with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof)
NOTES
Do not crush or kink or subject electric lines to tension.
This will result in damage to the electric lines and can impair their function.
IMPORTANT Place a suitable cloth underneath and carefully unclip in order to not damage or contaminate roof lining (1).
IMPORTANT The number of clothes hooks (5) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.
 
12 Remove grab handles from roof. Model 177.0
except code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof)
Model 243, 247
AR68.30-P-4330MFA 
13 Remove cover panels of the brackets for the partitioning net. Model 243, 247.6/7
with code U40 (Safety net for luggage cover)
 
14 Remove covers from the inside rearview mirror (A67). IMPORTANT Carefully unclip covers so as not to damage catch hooks.
If a cover is damaged:

Replace corresponding cover.

15 Press together catch hooks on roof frame of overhead control panel and unclip roof lining (1) from front roof frame.    
16 Release velcro fastener in center of roof lining (1) and carefully lower roof lining (1). Model 177.0, 243, 247

IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
17 Carefully pull down roof lining (1) from panoramic sliding sunroof. Model 177.0, 243, 247
with code 413 (Panoramic sliding sunroof/glass roof)
IMPORTANT Roof lining (1) is guided along front panoramic sliding sunroof on left and right.
IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
18 Release velcro fasteners in the rear area of the roof lining (1) and slightly lower roof lining (1). Model 243, 247
IMPORTANT The number of velcro fasteners varies depending on the vehicle equipment.
 
19 Guide brackets (2) of roof lining (1) out of roof frame in the direction of the arrow (B). Model 177.0, 243, 247.0
IMPORTANT Helper required.
 
20 Remove roof lining (1) through trunk cutout. NOTES
Do not kink or bend headliner (1) excessively.
Otherwise, cracks or breakage will occur on the roof lining (1).
IMPORTANT Two helpers required.
 
21 Prepare new headliner (1) for installation. When replacing roof paneling (1). AR68.30-P-4305-16MFA 
    Adhesive tape roll, non-woven Tesa tape, 50 meters, 50 mm wide *BR00.45-Z-1144-02A 
22 Install in the reverse order.
