	Prepare update
1	Check whether the customer is entitled to a map update free of charge.

2	Activation code for map update is available in Vehicle Documentation (VeDoc).
3	Connect charger to jump-start connection point.
4	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS) to position "1" (circuit 15R).
5	Switch on COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).
6	Connect Blu-ray™ player of vehicle diagnosis system to front USB ports of COMAND controller unit.	Alternatively, connect the master USB stick to the front USB connections of the COMAND control unit. To do so, use the Media Interface adapter cable (A177 820 29 01). If a Blu-ray option is not available (update using Blu-ray is not available in every market), ↓ Carry out update using the master DVD or USB stick.
	Update
7.1	Insert master-Blu-ray disc into external Blu-ray ™ player of XENTRY Kit and update map data.	When updating using the master Blu-ray disc The progress bar indicates how much has been completed. Call up update version through "Navi", "Options" and "Map version" menu.
7.2	Start menu for master USB flash drive and update map data.	With update using master USB stick The update process can take a while to complete. The progress bar indicates how much has been completed.
8.1	Remove master Blu-ray disc from Blu-ray™ player and disconnect front USB ports.	After updating using the master Blu-ray disc
8.2	Disconnect USB flash drive from front USB ports.	After updating using master USB stick
9	Switch off COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3).
10	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS) to position "0" (circuit 15R).
11	Disconnect charger.
