INSPECT Check
1 Check whether vehicle is affected by measure. Affected vehicles: Update Electronic Stability Program (ESP (R)) control unit software (code: VS3PARKMAN, acc. no.: 42 960 71)
IMPORTANT For authorized Mercedes-Benz service partners, only the entry in the "Extended VEGA Application" (EVA) system, in the "Current" tab, is decisive. An additional test of the affected vehicles in the workshop information system (WIS) or vehicle list is thereby not necessary.

REFER TO SELF DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT Use XENTRY Diagnostics add-on 10380 for version 07/2018 or a higher XENTRY Diagnostics version. The operation steps must be performed exactly as per XENTRY Diagnostics. AD00.00-D-2000-06TS
3 Connect charging equipment.
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR Maintaining on-board electrical system voltage when performing test and diagnosis work on vehicle NOTES
During the entire work procedure a sufficiently large voltage supply must be provided for the vehicle's on-board electrical system.
Otherwise any undervoltage that occurs may damage the control units.
IMPORTANT Follow the operating instructions for the charger.
IMPORTANT Use the charger to ensure that an adequate power supply (min. 12.5 V) is provided for the on-board electrical system battery.

4 Perform SCN coding in electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS). IMPORTANT It is absolutely essential to precisely follow the operation steps as described in the vehicle diagnosis system.
5 Update software for Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) control unit. NOTES
Maintain sequence at all times. Firstly perform SCN coding in the EZS control unit, then update software of the ESP® control unit.
This prevents unnecessary fault memory entries in the ESP® control unit.
IMPORTANT It is absolutely essential to precisely follow the operation steps as described in the vehicle diagnosis system.

6 Disconnect diagnostic system.
