Remove/Install Driver Airbag On Steering Wheel - AR91.60-P-0663S

WARNING Risk of injury  during testing and repair operations related to pyrotechnical components Do not expose pyrotechnical component parts to temperatures above 100°C or 212°F. Disconnect current supply when working on such component parts. AS91.00-Z-0008-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Move steering wheel (2) all the way to the top.    
2 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m).    
3 Disconnect ground line of battery of 12 V on-board electrical system.   AR54.10-P-0051S
4 Insert extraction hook (3) into release opening (6) on steering wheel (2). SPECIAL TOOL Extraction hook Fig 2
5 Release safety spring (4) of driver's airbag (1) using extraction hook (3) in direction of arrow and lift from steering wheel (2). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : The driver's airbag (1) must audibly engage in the steering wheel (2).  
6 Release and disconnect electrical connector (5). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Make sure that the electrical connector (5) engages properly.  
7 Remove driver's airbag (1).    
8 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
9 Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) with diagnostic device.
