Drain/Pour In Coolant - AR20.00-P-1142SC

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A 
    Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.  
WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
Notice  Notes on coolant   AH20.00-P-2080-01KOA 
Notice  Notes on avoiding damage through contamination and foreign objects   AH00.00-P-5000-01A
  Notes on coolant level   AH20.00-P-1142-01CW 
REMOVING Remove     
1 Open hood and carefully open and remove cap (1) at expansion reservoir.    
2 Remove front lower engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105S
  Drain off     
3 Slide drain hose onto fitting (2).    
4 Open drain valve (3) and collect coolant in suitable container.    
5 Close drain valve (3) and remove drain hose.    
  Pour in     
6 Connect vehicle diagnosis system and switch on ignition.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
7 Start fill mode of engine cooling system.    
8 Fill in coolant.   AR20.00-P-1142-04A 
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02MA 
    Test pressure for pressure-testing the cooling system *BE20.30-P-1002-01D 
    SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
    SPECIAL TOOL Cooler vacuum filling device Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL NTKL Adaption Fig 1
    SPECIAL TOOL Electric vacuum pump Fig 3
9 End fill mode of engine cooling system.    
10 Start bleeding routine of engine cooling system. IMPORTANT This involves actuating the coolant pumps to remove residual air from the engine cooling system.
If the bleeding routine was not completed successfully:

Repeat bleeding routine of engine cooling system.
 
11 Disconnect diagnostic system and switch off ignition.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
INSPECT Check     
12 Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.   AR20.00-P-1011SC 
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
13 Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
INSTALLING Install     
14 Install front lower engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105S
15 Tighten cap (1) and close hood.
