Model 223.0/1/9 

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 223.1 and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle. The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Mark separating point on roof frame upper section (1) and separate (area A).

   Do not cut too deeply.

   Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

   Dimensions: 

   a₁ = approx. 50 mm

   a₂ = approx. 65 mm

2. Press out self-piercing rivet from roof frame lower section (2) using a rivet press tool (area B).

3. Heat roof frame upper section (1) and roof frame lower section in cross-hatched areas.

   Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

4. Remove roof frame upper section (1) and roof frame lower section together.

5. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

6. Remove grinding dust.
