	Remove/install
1	Disconnect ground line of battery of 12 V on-board electrical system.		AR54.10-P-0051S
2	Remove rear section of front fender liner.	Model 223 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood) except code 228 (Additional warm water heating) Model 223.0/1 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood) except code 228 (Additional warm water heating)	AR88.10-P-1301S
3	Remove heater.	Model 223 with code 228 (Additional warm water heating) with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood) When removing right hood lifter.	AR83.70-P-5302S
4	Release electrical connector (1) and disconnect.
5	Unclip plug housing (2).
6	Remove bolt (3).	Screw/nut, hood lifter to body	*BA91.60-P-1002-02A
7	Extend hood lifter (4) upward out of hinge.
	Check
8	Check hood lifter (4) for damage.	If there is a problem, ↓ Replace hood lifter (4) and dispose of defective hood lifter (4) properly.
9	Install in the reverse order.
10	Connect diagnostic device and check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS).
