Service Information: Notes On Tire Valves - SI40.00-S-0002A

Model 415, 447, 448 

with code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless) 

The sensors for the V-Class or Vito (model 447, model 448) and for the Citan (model 415) are not interchangeable.

The valves for the V-Class or Vito (model 447, model 448) can be used on the Citan (model 415). However, the valves for the Citan (model 415) may not be used on the V-Class or the Vito (model 447, 448).  The valves currently have no visible differentiating characteristics.

Model 447 or model 448 require "High Speed Snap-In valves" (HSSI), that are approved for operation up to 210 km/h. This valve (without sensor) can also be used on model 415.

For models 415 and 447 or 448, both the "Sensor with valve" kit and the individual "Valve" part are packed in a bag with the replacement part number stuck onto it. The sensor alone is not available as a replacement part. Identification is possible provided the parts are not unpacked. The replacement part number is also marked on the sensor for model 447 or model 448.

The torque value specified in this Service Information and on the leaflet for the tire pressure sensor must be complied with at all times. Damage and malfunctions can otherwise occur.

The torque for the threaded connection for the sensor and valve is 1.4 +/-0.2 Nm.

When installing the valves, the assembly tool 000 589 34 16 00 must always be used (see AR40.15-S-0081E for model 447, model 448 or AR40.15-S-0081C for model 415).
