Model All (Light transporter)
Overview
This document contains information on:
- General
- Function
- Evaluation of input factors
- Output of warning tones and indicator tones
General
The instrument cluster control unit controls all displays in the instrument cluster, either in the head unit/instrument cluster display cluster or in the instrument cluster display.
Function
Information is shown on the instrument cluster that the driver requires depending on the situation. Information is provided on dynamic and static vehicle states, and if faults occur, corresponding warnings are issued.
The instrument cluster control unit is connected to the network architecture of the vehicle and actuates all displays in the instrument cluster.
To display information, the instrument cluster control unit processes the following information among other things:
- Terminal 15 status
- Fuel supply
- Engine speed
- Coolant temperature
- Outside temperature
- Requests to display system information
- Requests to output warnings
- Information on the on-board electrical system utilization
The instrument cluster control unit processes the incoming information and prepares it to be shown on the instrument cluster.
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant component parts are then actuated.
Output of warning tones and indicator tones
To output warning and indicator tones which are requested by the systems installed in the vehicle, the instrument cluster control unit actuates the instrument cluster speaker.
