General

The instrument cluster (A1) is located in the instrument panel of the vehicle behind the steering wheel.

The instrument cluster (A1) takes over the function of a gateway for the tachograph control unit (A56).

Function

Task

The instrument cluster (A1) is the display and information unit and is used for visualizing driving-relevant information for the driver. The instrument cluster (A1) contains, e.g. the speedometer, the tachometer, the fuel and engine temperature gauges and various warning and indicator lamps.

Networking

The instrument cluster (A1) has connections via direct lines and via the telematics CAN (CAN B), user interface CAN 2 (CAN HMI2) and the tachograph CAN (CAN TCO).
