General 

The head unit/instrument cluster displays the contents of the multimedia system and the instrument cluster in two separate displays:

• Display for the instrument cluster
• Display for the multimedia system (central display)

The size of the individual displays depends on the model and equipment installed. Depending on the model, the displays are integrated into a display cluster.

The display for the multimedia system detects swipe movements with one or more fingers and tapping motions on the display. The inputs detected are transmitted as operation signals to the head unit.

The head unit/instrument cluster displays are located in the instrument panel.

Function requirements

Function 

Multifunction display 

The multifunction display is located in the instrument cluster.

Depending on the vehicle equipment, the following information and more is shown on the multifunction display:

• "READY" indicator (vehicle ready to drive)
• Status display of transmission position (drive range) and recuperation level
• Display of drive programs
• State of charge of high-voltage battery
• Display messages, menus and menu line
• Display of outside temperature, time, and travel distance
• Charge screen

Central display 

Depending on the equipment installed, the central display detects touch movements on the touchpad or the head unit control panel control unit. The detected inputs are transmitted as operation signals to the central display.

Various vehicle functions are displayed and controlled via the central display (e.g. navigation).
