Block diagram of work area illumination
Work area illumination, general
The work area illumination is located above the kitchenette and above the sliding door to provide illumination. Light output can be dimmed in 3 stages. Two spotlights with a separate switch are located in the roof stowage box. The lamps are arranged to illuminate the head area when the bench seat/berth is folded down and to illuminate the wardrobe. To illuminate the luggage compartment when the liftgate is open, two work area lights are located on the headliner in the right and left rear.
Work area illumination, function sequence
The electronic ignition lock control unit (EZS) sends the circuit 15 status over the interior CAN to the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit. The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit then sends the "Interior lamp" request via roof LIN to the overhead control panel (OCP [DBE]) control unit and the work area illumination for center rear lamp, left kitchen interior lamp and right sliding door interior lamp are actuated.
MODEL 447.8
with CODE ZK7 (Marco Polo)
On this model, the work area illumination is supplied directly by the backup battery (G1/12).
The right sliding door control unit sends the status of the sliding door (open or closed) (with CODE T55 (Electric operation for right sliding door) via interior CAN to the signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit. The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit receives the status of the right sliding door (open or closed) (without CODE T55 (Electric operation for right sliding door)) from the mechanical right sliding door central locking actuator.
The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit receives the status of the liftgate (open or closed) (without CODE W68 (EASY-PACK liftgate) and without CODE T55 (Electric operation for right sliding door)) from the liftgate central locking actuator.
The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) control unit evaluates all incoming information and actuates the center rear lamp, left kitchen interior lamp and right sliding door interior lamp via roof LIN and overhead control panel (OCP [DBE]) to switch on the work area illumination.
