Function requirements, general
- Circuit 15 ON
The status of circuit 15 is sent by the electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit (N 73) via the interior CAN (CAN B) to the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit (N26/16).
Two-way radio integration, general
The two-way radio integration is a preinstallation for the operation of the voice radio transmission that allows the driver to establish communication e.g. with a taxi dispatch via the taxi two-way radio (A49).
The two-way radio integration is comprised of the following subfunctions:
- Function sequence for switching on two-way radio
- Function sequence for switching off two-way radio
Function sequence for switching on two-way radio
The taxi two-way radio can be used to establish a wireless connection e.g. with a taxi dispatch. The communication via two-way radio is cyclically sent to an output of the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit. If the cyclical two-way radio source is interrupted, this can be activated again after 5 s.

The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit uses the interior CAN to send status information that is displayed on the multifunction display (A1/1p13) of the instrument cluster (IC [KI]) control unit (A1/1). The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit activates the taxi two-way radio via the CIA CAN (CAN CIA). The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit sends the status of the taxi two-way radio via interior CAN to the radio (Audio) (N87/2).

The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit sends status information via interior CAN, electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit, chassis CAN, the gateway for user interface CAN (N93/4) and user interface CAN (CAN HMI) that is displayed on the multifunction display of the instrument cluster (IC [KI]) control unit. The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit activates the taxi two-way radio via the CIA CAN. The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit sends the status of the taxi two-way radio via interior CAN, electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit, chassis CAN, the gateway for user interface CAN and user interface CAN to the radio (Audio/COMAND) (N87/6), which then actuates the Audio/COMAND display control unit (A40/8) via telematics CAN (CAN A).
Alternatively, the taxi two-way radio can also be activated upon unlocking the central locking (CL [ZV]) if taxi mode was not switched off beforehand. The FM, AM (A2/18) antenna amplifier receives the radio signals of the taxi alarm system radio remote triggering transmitter (A8/4) and forwards them to the electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit. The electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit sends the "CL [ZV] unlocked" status via the interior CAN to the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit, which then activates the taxi two-way radio via the CIA CAN.
Function sequence for switching off two-way radio
The taxi two-way radio can be switched off manually or automatically. If the central locking is locked with the taxi alarm system radio remote triggering transmitter, the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit automatically switches off the taxi two-way radio after the expiration of a programmable time (standard 30 min). The FM, AM antenna amplifier receives the radio signals of the taxi alarm system radio remote triggering transmitter and forwards them to the electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit. The electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit then sends the "CL [ZV] locked" status via interior CAN to the parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit.
