- Install side wall paneling (1), rear side wall paneling bottom section (2), liftgate or rear-end door, seal and lock striker and fit.
- Check gaps using
feeler gauge and adjust.

- Fix side wall paneling (1) and rear side wall paneling bottom section (2) in place.
- Remove liftgate or rear-end door, seal and lock striker.
- Drill Ø 7.1 mm rivet holes in side wall paneling (1) at defined punch marks (area B).
- MODEL 447.605 except CODE W65 (Liftgate) except CODE W68 (Electrically actuated liftgate)
Drill Ø 7.1 mm rivet holes in side wall paneling (1) at defined punch marks (area A).
- Drill Ø 6.5 mm rivet holes in side wall paneling (1) and rear side wall paneling bottom section (2) (area C).
- Remove side wall paneling (1) and rear side wall paneling bottom section (2).
- Deburr rivet holes on both sides.
- Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
- Apply sealant to body.
- Install side wall paneling (1) and rear side wall paneling bottom section (2) and fit.
- Fix side wall paneling (1) and rear side wall paneling bottom section (2) in place.

- Side wall paneling (1)

(Area H).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Rivet side wall paneling (1) and bottom section of rear side wall paneling (2) with Ø 6.4x14 blind rivet (area K).

- Install blind rivet nuts M5 (area X).
- MODEL 447.605 except CODE W65 (Liftgate) except CODE W68 (Electrically actuated liftgate) Install blind rivet nuts M5 (area W).
- Grind inert gas welds and inert gas spot welds down flat.
- Clean weld joints.
- Restore surfaces on side wall paneling (1) and rear side wall paneling bottom section (2) and smooth.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
