Remove/Install Front Axle Brake Disk - AR42.10-S-0230E

Model 447, 448

DANGER Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove each front wheel   AR40.10-S-1100E
2 Remove front axle brakepads If the brake disks (5) are replaced.
↓
Replace brakepads		 AR42.10-S-1610E 
3 Remove screws (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, front floating caliper carrier to steering knuckle *BA42.10-Z-1002-03KOB 
4 Detach brake caliper support (2) and strap down with brake caliper (1) IMPORTANT Do not release brake hose.  
5 Remove screw (4) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace screw (4).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, brake disk to wheel hub		 *BA42.10-Z-1001-11KOG 
6 Remove brake disk (5) IMPORTANT Block the brake disk (5) if necessary and release by applying light hammer blows.  
CLEAN Clean     
7 Clean brake surfaces and contact surfaces of brake disk (5)    
8 Clean flange of wheel hub    
9 Apply light coating of grease to contact surface for centering brake disk (5) on wheel hub Long-life grease *BR00.45-Z-1001-06A 
INSPECT Check     
10 Check condition of brake disk (5)    
Notice  Notes on evaluating brake disks IMPORTANT Replace brake disk (5) if necessary. Always replace brake disks (5) in pairs. AH42.10-D-9406-07KOP 
11 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
12 Carry out brake test on the test stand    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP42.00-S-4290E
