REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Suction off brake fluid from brake fluid reservoir (1) and then reseal brake fluid reservoir (1). IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Extraction bellows
 
2 Remove brake fluid reservoir (1) from air/water duct. IMPORTANT To do so, remove expansion rivet.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check expansion rivet for damage.
If damage is found,

replace expansion rivet.
 
3 Disconnect electrical connector (4).    
4 Remove hydraulic lines (2). REMOVAL IMPORTANT Mark assignment of hydraulic lines (2).
IMPORTANT Collect any escaping brake fluid using suitable rags. Seal the connections and hydraulic lines (2).
Different retaining screws are installed depending on the given vehicle version.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Note assignment of hydraulic lines (2).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Retaining screw, brake line to hydraulic unit

5 Remove hydraulic lines (3). REMOVAL IMPORTANT Mark assignment of hydraulic lines (3).
IMPORTANT Collect any escaping brake fluid using suitable rags. Seal connections and hydraulic lines (3).
Different retaining screws are installed depending on the given vehicle version.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Note assignment of hydraulic lines (3).

6 Remove nuts (5). Model 447 with engine 274, 622, 651, 780.701

INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Check holder (6) is correctly seated in guides (7).
 
8 Remove Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit (N30/4) from holder (6). Model 447 with engine 654
with code XM7 (MOPF II)

When replacing the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit (N30/4).
IMPORTANT To do this, remove screw.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, hydraulic unit to bracket
*BA42.30-P-1002-03E 
9 Install in the reverse order.    
10 Commission Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit (N30/4) using diagnostic system. When replacing the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit (N30/4).  
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-S-2000-04E
11 Remove diagnostic system. When replacing the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit (N30/4).  
12 Bleed brake system.   AR42.10-S-0010E
