Adjust Sliding Door - AR72.16-S-1023E

Model 447, 448 

MODIFICATION NOTES

WARNING Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
INSPECT Check     
1 Check all the components relevant for door adjustment for wear, damage and soiling. IMPORTANT The door may be adjusted only when there no problems.  
2 Check gap dimensions "DC", "FA", and "FB". NOTES Carefully close sliding door. Otherwise the sliding doors or components on the door cutout can be damaged. AR60.00-S-0700-01E

3.1 Remove electrical fuse 74 from the left electric sliding door. Model 447.7/8, 448.8 with code T56 (Electric operation of sliding door on left)  
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Assignment of right footwell firewall fuse and relay module   GF54.15-S-1256-39TRA
3.2 Remove electrical fuse 311 from the right electric sliding door. Model 447.7/8, 448 with code T55 (Electric operation of sliding door on right)  
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Assignment of fuse and relay module, right A-pillar   GF54.15-S-1256-38TRA
4 Loosen the screws on the lock striker (1).    
5 Loosen the lock hook (2).    
6 Loosen the screws on the guide wedge (3).    
7 Remove the cover above the lower carriage (5).    
8 Loosen the screws on the center carriage (4).    
9 Loosen the screws on the lower carriage (5).    
10 Adjust gap dimensions "DC" and "FB". IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
Align center carriage (4) horizontally.

11 Tighten the screws on the center carriage (4) gently by hand.    
12 Tighten the screws on the lower carriage (5) gently by hand.    
13 Adjust the flatness of the sliding door in relation to the side wall with the lock striker (1) and end stops (7). IMPORTANT The contour of the sliding door must be flush with the contour of the side wall or project by no more than 1 mm.  
14 Loosen the screws on the upper carriage (6).    
15 Adjust gap dimension "FA" and the flatness of the sliding door in relation to the front door. IMPORTANT Aid of helper required. Align upper carriage (6).
IMPORTANT The contour of the front door must be flush with the contour of the sliding door or project by no more than 1 mm.

16 Tighten the screws on the upper carriage (6) gently by hand.    
17 Adjust the lock hook (2) and guide wedge (3).    
18 Check gap dimensions "DC", "FA" and "FB" and check the sliding door to ensure that it opens and closes properly.   AR60.00-S-0700-01E

If any deviations are found,

repeat the adjustment procedure for the sliding door.

19 Tighten the screws on the center carriage (4). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, center carriage to sliding door *BA72.16-Z-1002-01KOJ 
20 Tighten the screws on the lower carriage (5). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, lower carriage to mount *BA72.16-Z-1006-01KOJ 
21 Tighten the screws on the upper carriage (6). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, upper carriage to mount *BA72.16-Z-1020-01KOJ 
22 Install the cover above the lower carriage (5).    
23 Tighten the screws of the lock striker (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, lock striker to C-pillar *BA72.16-Z-1005-01KOJ 
24 Tighten the lock hook (2).    
25 Tighten the screws on the guide wedge (3).    
26.1 Install electrical fuse 74 on the left electric sliding door. Model 447.7/8, 448.8 with code T56 (Electric operation of sliding door on left)  
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Assignment of right footwell firewall fuse and relay module   GF54.15-S-1256-39TRA
26.2 Install electrical fuse 311 on the right electric sliding door. Model 447.7/8, 448 with code T55 (Electric operation of sliding door on right)  
REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE Assignment of fuse and relay module, right A-pillar   GF54.15-S-1256-38TRA
