Theft protection and locking, general
The theft protection and locking function description comprises the following functions described in separate documents:
- Central locking (CL [ZV]), function
- Trunk lid/liftgate control function (with CODE FZ8 (Comfort opening and closing with IR remote control))
- Drive authorization system level 4 (DAS [FBS] 4), function
- Convenience feature (CF) function (with CODE FZ8 (Comfort opening and closing with IR remote control))
- Anti-theft alarm system (ATA) function (with CODE FY1 (Theft protection package or with CODE FZ5 (Anti-theft alarm system))
When the transport mode is activated, the energy management inhibits unlocking the passenger door, rear doors and the trunk lid are unlocked via the CL or trunk lid/liftgate control function (with CODE FZ8 (Comfort opening and closing with IR remote control)). Detailed information on the operating state of the transport mode is given in the separate function description for energy management.
CL function
The CL electrically locks and unlocks the vehicle doors, the tailgate and the fuel filler flap.
Trunk lid/liftgate control function (with CODE FZ8 (Comfort opening and closing with IR remote control))
The liftgate can be opened or closed automatically from inside and outside via the trunk lid/liftgate control.
DAS [FBS] 4, function
DAS 4 allows the ignition to be switched on and the engine to be started. DAS 4 is a compound system consisting of control units, each of which calculate and compare the drive authorization code independently. If the check in question is valid, each component is released automatically.
CF, function
The side windows can be opened and closed with the CF via the transmitter key (A8/1) and the air recirculation button (S98/1s9) on MODEL 447.8, 448.8 or air recirculation button (S98/1s7) on MODEL 447.6/7, 448.7.
ATA function (with CODE FY1 (Theft protection package and with CODE FZ5 (Anti-theft alarm system))
The ATA [EDW] monitors all relevant inputs after locking the vehicle. If a change of status is detected at one of the monitored inputs, an acoustic and visual alarm is given.
