Digital Tachograph (DTCO) Control Unit, Component Description - GF54.61-S-4106TRA
Model 447.6/7/8
With Code JD1 (Tachograph digital EC)
Shown on model 447.813
Location
Model 447.8
The digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit is installed in the center console behind the roller shutter door.
Model 447.6/7 With Code SH4 (Front passenger double bench seat, comfort)
The digital tachograph control unit (DTCO) is installed in the radio recess.
Task
The digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit has the following tasks:
- Request and capture of the real-time signal from the travel and speed sensor (B6/12).
- Request and capture of the cryptographic data from the travel and speed sensor.
- Receiving of an independent speed signal from the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control unit (N30/4) via the chassis CAN (CAN E), electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit (N73) and front end CAN (CAN G).
- Sending of data and command signals to the travel and speed sensor.
- Detection of manipulation at the travel and speed sensor.
- Calculation of the vehicle speed, driving distance and driven trip mileage.
- Model 447.8
- Transmission of the calculated data via the front end CAN, the electronic ignition lock (EIS) control unit, the chassis CAN, the gateway for the user interface CAN (N93/4) and the user interface CAN (CAN HMI) to the instrument cluster (IC) control unit (A1/1).
- Model 447.6/7
- Transmission of the calculated data via the front end CAN, electronic ignition lock (EZS) control unit and chassis CAN to the instrument cluster (IC) control unit.
- Registration, storage, display, printout and output of driver and vehicle-specific data. With the digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit, the data is stored in the device memory as well as on the inserted tachograph cards.
- Operation via buttons, e.g. to call up menu contents for diagnostic data or to select the relevant worktime categories for driver 1 and 2.
- Monitoring of the system by means of an integrated diagnosis function and signaling of a diagnosed fault to the instrument cluster (IC) control unit.
Body
The digital tachograph (DTCO) control unit essentially consists of a display, buttons for operation, a printer and 2 card slots.
Display
Display of the following contents (examples):
- Time
- Mode
- Vehicle speed
- Total distance
- Driver 1 activity (symbol)
- Driver 1 card symbol
- Driver 2 activity (symbol)
- Driver 2 card symbol
- Driver 1 driving time (in top left corner of display)
- Time for driver 2 (in bottom left corner of display)
- Break time (in top right corner of display)
- Event (example):
- "Journey without valid card"
- Fault (example):
- "Sensor fault"
- Warning (examples):
- "Break!"
- "No paper"
Buttons for operation
A distinction is made between the following operation options:
- Driver 1 button:
- Setting of driver 1 activities
- Driver 1 card eject button
- Driver 2 button:
- Setting of driver 2 activities
- Driver 2 card eject button
- Printer drawer release button:
- Opening of printer drawer (to change paper roll, to read model plate, adhesive label indicating hardware and software release)
- Menu button panel:
- "Arrow UP" button (to select function/selection)
- "Arrow DOWN" button (to select function/selection)
- "Arrow LEFT" button (to close menu, cancel)
- "OK" button (to confirm function/selection)
Printer
The printer can be used to print out the following data (except):
- Data for driver 1/driver 2, data from mass storage device
- Daily value
- Events
- Activities
- Technical data
- Speed profiles
- Speed diagram ("v diagram")
Card slots
The tachograph card for driver 1 is inserted into one card slot and the tachograph card for driver 2 into the other card slot.
Card slot 2 must not be the only one that is filled.
