Adjust Camber And Caster At The Front Axle - AR40.20-P-0263ME

Notice  Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process   AH00.00-P-0020-01A

MEASURING Measure     
1 Carry out input measurement.   AR40.20-P-0200ME 
2 Compare determined values with the specified values. Assign suspension data AR40.20-P-0203ME 
REMOVING Remove     
3 Remove center engine compartment lining and rear engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105ME
4 Remove heat shield at left or right by removing bolt (1) of rear transverse control arm mounting (2). Only for caster adjustment, if installed.  
  Adjusting caster     
5 Unfasten nut (4) on rear transverse control arm mounting (2).    
6 Rock vehicle to settle suspension. If rear transverse control arm bearing (2) is jammed.  
7 Replace bolt (1) on rear transverse control arm mounting (2) with adjustment screw (5) with washer (6), and press rear transverse control arm mounting (2) towards vehicle center or outside of vehicle while doing so. IMPORTANT Use adjustment screw (5) with washer (6) only.  
    IMPORTANT The adjustment (a) at the rear of the lower transverse control arm towards the vehicle center causes a reduction in caster.
The adjustment (b) at the rear of the lower transverse control arm towards outside of the vehicle causes an increase in caster.
 
8 Tighten nut (4) on rear transverse control arm mounting (2). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, lower transverse control arm to front axle carrier *BA33.20-P-1004-01W 
  Adjust camber     
9 Unfasten nut (4) on front transverse control arm mounting (3).    
10 Rock vehicle to settle suspension. If front transverse control arm mounting (3) is jammed.  
11 Replace bolt (1) on front transverse control arm mounting (3) with adjustment screw (5) with washer (6), and press front transverse control arm mounting (3) towards vehicle center or outside of vehicle while doing so. IMPORTANT Use adjustment screw (5) with washer (6) only.  
    IMPORTANT The adjustment (a) at the front of the lower transverse control arm towards the vehicle center causes a positive camber change.
The adjustment (b) at the rear of the lower transverse control arm towards the outside of the vehicle causes a negative camber change
 
12 Tighten nut (4) on front transverse control arm mounting (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, lower transverse control arm to front axle carrier *BA33.20-P-1004-01W 
MEASURING Measure     
13 Carry out output measurement.   AR40.20-P-0200ME 
INSTALLING Install     
14 Install heat shield at left or right by fitting bolt (1) of rear transverse control arm mounting (2). Only for caster adjustment, if installed.  
15 Install center engine compartment lining and rear engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105ME
