	Check
1	Check hinges for deformation.	With triggered engine hood lifter (2).
		If damage is present, ↓ Replace hinges of hood.

2	Remove front impact absorber and check for damage or deformation.	With triggered engine hood lifter (2).

		If damage is present, ↓ Replace impact absorber and pedestrian protection sensors.

	Remove/install
3	Disconnect ground line from battery.		AR54.10-P-0003FR
4	Lift left engine compartment cover (5) until the electrical connector (4) of the left hood lifter (2) is accessible.	When removing engine hood lifter (2) on left side of vehicle.
5.1	Remove left electrical connector (4) from washer fluid reservoir (6) and disconnect.	When removing engine hood lifter (2) on left side of vehicle.
5.2	Remove right electrical connector (4) from pre-fuse box and disconnect.	When removing engine hood lifter (2) on right side of vehicle.
6	Unscrew bolt (1).	Screw/nut, hood lifter to body	*BA91.60-P-1002-02A
7	Remove hood lifter (2) upward.	Ensure correct routing of electrical wiring harness (7) and positioning of grommet (3). Otherwise the electrical wiring harness (7) can be damaged.
8	Install in the reverse order.

9	Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system.
