	Remove/install
1	Remove ME-SFI [ME] control unit bracket.	Engine 177.8 in model 290	AR07.08-P-7016LSE
		Engine 177.9 in model 290	AR07.08-P-7016MNI
2	Remove holder (2).	Engine 177.8 in model 290
3	Remove screws of holder (6).	M6x1	*BA00.10-P-1002-04A
4	Place vacuum hose (8) to one side.	Engine 177.9 in model 290
5	Unclip vacuum hose (3) and place to one side.
6	Release and disconnect electrical connections (1).	Engine 177.8 in model 290
7	Remove screws (4).	Bolt, ignition coil to cylinder head cover	*BA15.10-P-1001-04D
8	Withdraw ignition coil for cylinders 1+2 (T4) upward and remove.	Ignition coil cylinders 1+2 (T4) and the spark plug connect form a unit and can therefore only be removed and replaced together.
9	Withdraw ignition coil for cylinders 3+4 (T4/1) upwards and remove.	Ignition coil cylinders 3+4 (T4/1) and the spark plug connector from a unit and can therefore only be removed and replaced together.
10	Check ignition coil for cylinders 1+2 (T4) and ignition coil for cylinders 3+4 (T4/1) for damage.	If damage is present: ↓
		Replace ignition coil for cylinders 1 + 2 (T4) and/or ignition coil for cylinders 3 + 4 (T4/1).
11	Approx. Apply 1 g of spark plug connector grease to spark plug connectors.	Apply spark plug connector grease to reduce pull-off and attachment forces Spark plug connectors will otherwise be damaged during next removal. Spark plug connector grease 35 g	*BR00.45-Z-1102-06A
12	Install in the reverse order.
13	Read out and delete fault memory.

	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
14	Perform an engine test run and check the engine for proper function.
