DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
WARNING Risk of burn injuries  , suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. Use the extraction system. Move people out of the danger zone. AS49.00-Z-0001-01A 
WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove upper Engine cover. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Do not install upper Engine cover until after the leak test.  
2 Remove ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) with connected coolant lines and place to one side.   AR07.08-P-7013MNI
3 Release electrical connector (1) and disconnect.    
4 Remove control unit of exhaust gas temperature sensor (2).    
5 Remove center Engine compartment lining. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Only install center Engine compartment lining after leak test. AR61.20-P-1105FRX
6 Remove union nut (3) from right gasoline particulate filter and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Coat thread with heat-resistant lubricating paste.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Exhaust temperature sensor, upstream of catalytic converter/OPF

    Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench bit Fig 2
7 Remove union nut (4) from right catalytic converter and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Coat thread with heat-resistant lubricating paste.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Exhaust temperature sensor, upstream of catalytic converter/OPF

    Paste, hot lubrication 1 kg, DBL 6879.20 *BR00.45-Z-1005-06A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench bit Fig 2
8 Expose electric lines and remove exhaust gas temperature sensor (5) with control unit of exhaust gas temperature sensor (2). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace cable tie.  
9 Install in the reverse order.    
10 Read out and delete fault memory.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06FR
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when Engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the Engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

11 Perform Engine test run; in this connection, check exhaust system for proper operation and leak tightness.    
12 Install center Engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105FRX
13 Install upper Engine cover.
