WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove charge air coolers. Engine 177.8 in model 290 AR09.41-P-6817LSE
    Engine 177.9 in model 290 AR09.41-P-6817MNI 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Do not install upper engine cover until after the leak test.  
2 Remove expansion reservoir.   AR20.30-P-4950MNI
3 Remove lower bleed line at right oil separator. Engine 177.9 in model 290 AR01.20-P-7902MNI
4 Remove bleed line and purge line at right charge-air distributor (6).   AR09.41-P-8685MNI 
5 Release and disconnect electrical connection (3).    
6.1 Remove screw and turn pressure sensor downstream of right throttle valve (B28/23) clockwise and remove in upward direction. Engine 177.9 in model 290  
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring and moisten with lubricant.  
    Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, boost pressure sensor upstream/downstream of throttle valve *BA09.41-P-1005-01X 
    SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 2
6.2 Unscrew screw, turn pressure sensor downstream of right throttle valve (B28/23) counterclockwise, and remove upward. Engine 177.8 in model 290  
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing ring and moisten with lubricant.  
    Lubricant, rubber assembly 1 L *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, boost pressure sensor upstream/downstream of throttle valve *BA09.41-P-1005-01X 
    SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 2
7 Seal opening on the charge-air distributor (6) with suitable stop plug. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
8 Install in the reverse order.    
  Finishing activity     
9 Read out the fault memory and delete if necessary.
