DANGER Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
WARNING Risk of injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove brake pads (2) and brake caliper (1).   AR42.10-P-1610LSE 
    INSTALLATION NOTES
The new brake caliper (1) is shipped in prefilled condition and it may not be drained.
Otherwise the brake caliper (1) cannot be vented.
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace lining guide pins (4) and spreader spring (5) when replacing brake caliper (1).  
2 Remove brake hose (3).   AR42.10-P-0026FR 
3 Unscrew guide pins and remove brake caliper (1). SPECIAL TOOL Guide bolts Fig 1
INSPECT Check     
4 Check brake caliper (1) and dust boots of brake pistons for leak tightness and damage. If there is a problem,

replace brake caliper (1).
 
5 Check brake disk for wear and condition. If there is a problem,

replace corresponding brake disk.

6 Install in the reverse order.    
  Concluding tasks     
7 Bleed brake system.   AR42.10-P-0010FR 
8 Operate brake pedal several times until the brake linings (2) make contact with the brake disks. IMPORTANT Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.  
9 Check and correct brake fluid level in brake fluid reservoir.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP42.10-P-4210B
10 Perform brake test on test stand.
