The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.
Additional information can be found in the superordinate service document.
The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.
- Install and fit outer rear wheel well (1), rear fender, seal and lock striker.
- Check gaps using
feeler gauge and adjust.
- Fix outer rear wheel well (1) in place.
- Remove rear fender, seal and lock striker.
- Drill rivet holes in outer rear wheel well (1) with ø 6.7 mm (area A).
- Remove outer rear wheel well (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on outer rear wheel well (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install outer rear wheel well (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet outer rear wheel well (1) with rivets ø 6.4x12 (area B).
