  Draining     
1 Lift vehicle with vehicle lift.   AR00.60-P-1006A
2 Completely release the pneumatic pressure of the air suspension using the diagnostic system.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   NOTES The complete wheels must not touch the ground.
Otherwise, the suspension struts and air suspension bellows may be damaged.
AD00.00-P-2000-06ME
    IMPORTANT To remove the electropneumatic controller unit (1), the central reservoir and the associated pressure lines, the air suspension must be completely emptied and filled externally.
IMPORTANT Select menu item "Actuations" in active suspension and damping system control unit.
 
REMOVING Remove     
3 Remove left front wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-P-1102ME
4 Remove front section of fender liner in front left fender.   AR88.10-P-1301ME
5 Remove air intake and return line (2) from electropneumatic controller unit (1), unclip from holder (3) and hang to one side.    
  Filling     
6 Attach adapter (4) instead of air intake and return line (2) to electropneumatic controller unit (1), as shown, and fix in place with thumb screw (5).    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 167 588 00 91 00 Adapter   WS32.00-P-0035B 
7 Connect line (6) of adapter (4) to leak tester.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 19 21 00 Leak tester   WS83.00-P-0035B
8 Open shutoff valve in line (6) and adjust pressure at leak tester. Adjustment pressure on leak tester for external filling of air suspension *BE32.22-P-1001-01A 
9 Fill pneumatic pressure system of air suspension externally using the diagnostic system and an adapter.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   NOTES The complete wheels must not touch the ground.
Otherwise, the suspension struts and air suspension bellows may be damaged.
IMPORTANT Select menu item "Actuations" in active suspension and damping system control unit.

10 Remove adapter (4) from electropneumatic controller unit (1).    
INSTALLING Install     
11 Clip air intake and return line (2) onto holder (3) and attach to electropneumatic controller unit (1).    
12 Install front section of fender liner into front left fender.   AR88.10-P-1301ME
13 Install left front wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-P-1102ME
