DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER The high voltage used for electric welding presents a lethal hazard. Risk of explosion  from welding in areas close to highly inflammable materials. Risk of injury  from weld splatter and UV-light when welding. Risk of poisoning  from inhaling welding gases Use insulating mats. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and a protective mask. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Use air extraction system. AS00.00-Z-0007-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove detachable parts in area of repair point.    
2 Cover all detachable parts remaining in vehicle with spark protection blankets.    
3 Set up straightening bench with straightening bench support members and straightening set    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 23 00 Body straightening system   WS60.00-P-0023K
4 Place vehicle on straightening bench and fasten.    
5 Remove longitudinal member front section (1) with end plate (2).   AR62.20-P-1260-01ME 
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 84 00 Heat gun   WS54.00-P-0049B
    1K-zinc dust paint *BR00.45-Z-1056-07A 
INSTALLING Install     
6 Prepare longitudinal member front section (1) with end plate (2) for installation.   AR62.20-P-1260-05ME 
    1K-zinc dust paint *BR00.45-Z-1056-07A 
7 Install longitudinal member front section (1) with end plate (2).   AR62.20-P-1260-07ME 
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 23 00 Body straightening system   WS60.00-P-0023K
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 84 00 Welder   WS60.00-P-0021K
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 02 84 00 Welder   WS60.00-P-0022K
    Blind rivet Y2 6.5X12.5 (clamping range 2 mm to 5 mm, draw-off strength min. 19 kN) *BR00.45-Z-1012-13A 
    Blind rivet Y3 6.5X14.5 (clamping range 4 mm to 7 mm, draw-off strength min. 19 kN) *BR00.45-Z-1016-13A 
    1K-zinc dust paint *BR00.45-Z-1056-07A 
    Parts kit for 2-component adhesive for body *BR00.45-Z-1162-02A 
8 Release vehicle from straightening bench, lift and remove straightening bench.    
9 Clean weld joints and sheet metal flange.    
10 Remove spark protection blankets.    
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by paint vapors igniting. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling paint vapors. No smoking! No open fire! Use respiratory protection, protective clothing, gloves, safety glasses and protective skin cream. Ensure that the area is well ventilated. AS98.00-Z-0002-01A
11 Prime repair areas with a primer filler.

    NOTES
Repair area must be free of dust and grease. Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
IMPORTANT Use only primer fillers approved by manufacturer. See guidelines for paint technology in the workshop portal.
 
12 Seal seam after repair.   AR97.10-P-4000ME
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by paint vapors igniting. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling paint vapors. No smoking! No open fire! Use respiratory protection, protective clothing, gloves, safety glasses and protective skin cream. Ensure that the area is well ventilated. AS98.00-Z-0002-01A
13 Paint repair areas and adjacent surfaces.
