The next steps are shown on component parts on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

- Grind weld studs (3) on the longitudinal member front section (1) down flat.
- Grind mating surfaces at longitudinal member front section (1) and at end plate (2) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.

Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area P).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
