	Remove/install
1	Remove upper engine cover.
		Do not install upper engine cover until after the leak test.	AP01.10-P-2405-01C
2	Unclip purge line (1) on cable duct.
3	Unclip purge line (2) from vent line.	Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247 except code M016 (Uprated engine)
4	Release and disconnect electrical connector (4) at intake camshaft valve lift switchover actuator (Y49/8).
5	Remove screws (3).	Bolt, valve lift switch actuator to cylinder head cover	*BA05.20-P-1004-02K
6	Remove the intake camshaft valve lift changeover actuator (Y49/8).	Ensure correct installation position of the intake camshaft valve lift switching actuator (Y49/8).
7	Cover the opening in cylinder head cover with a clean, lint-free rag.
	Check
8	Check sealing ring on intake camshaft valve lift switchover actuator (Y49/8) for damage.	If damage is present: ↓ Replace the intake camshaft valve lift switching actuator (Y49/8).
9	Check the pins of the intake camshaft valve lift switchover actuator (Y49/8) for wear.	Do not pull out the pins of the intake camshaft valve lift switchover actuator (Y49/8). Otherwise damage will occur. If there are problems, ↓ Replace the intake camshaft valve lift switching actuator (Y49/8).
10	Install in the reverse order.
11	Read out and delete fault memory.

	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
12	Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper leak tightness and leak tightness.
13	Install upper engine cover.
