	Remove/install
1	Put transmission into neutral position.
2	Release parking brake.
3	Remove exhaust system. 		Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 654 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR49.10-P-7142MFF
		Model 118, 177, 247 with engine 139 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)	AR49.10-P-7286MFG
4	Remove heat shields (3, 4).
5	Mark propeller shaft intermediate bearing (2).	Position color markings for position of propeller shaft intermediate bearing (2) relative to frame floor assembly. : Observe marking in order to reproduce the ex factory installation position.
6	Loosen screws (5).	Bolt, propeller shaft intermediate bearing to frame floor assembly	*BA41.40-P-1001-01G
7	Mark position of propeller shaft (1) at flange relative to power take-off and rear axle differential in color and remove propeller shaft (1).		AR41.10-P-0050-18MFA
	Drift for releasing the fitting sleeves in the flexible couplings		WF58.50-P-4110-01A
		Aid of helper required.
		Bolt, flexible coupling to rear axle differential	*BA41.10-P-1002-01K
		Bolt, drive shaft to transmission	*BA41.10-P-1001-01K
		Counterholder	Fig 2
8	Remove screws (5).
9	Move propeller shaft (1) out toward rear.	Aid of helper required.
	Check
10	Check propeller shaft intermediate bearing (2) for wear and damage.	If problems exist, ↓ Replace propeller shaft (1).
11	Check pilot bushings for wear and damage.	If problems exist, ↓ Replace pilot bushings.

12	Check flex disk and propeller shaft flange for wear and damage.
			AP41.10-P-4152C
		If problems exist, ↓ Replace flex disk or propeller shaft (1).
13	Install in the reverse order.
