Multicontour Seat Pneumatic Pump (MCS), Component Description - GF91.25-P-5205GWM
Model 463
as of model year 2019
with code PA9 (Seat Comfort package Plus)
Location
The multicontour seat pneumatic pump is located at the rear right behind the side wall trim and behind the wheel arch.
Tasks
The multicontour seat pneumatic pump has the following tasks:
- Compressed air supply for the multicontour seats
- Pressure monitoring of the compressed air reservoir by means of a sensor
- Switch on/off of internal solenoid valve for compressed air supply
- Pneumatic system leak detection
- Automatic shutoff of compressed-air supply system after t = 60 s continuous operation
- Overpressure run of pneumatic system and subsequent actuation of solenoid valve on pressure tank for draining compression moisture in pressure tank
The tasks are subdivided as follows:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals of the pressure sensor in the multicontour seat pneumatic pump are read in directly via an internal line.
Interior CAN
The following signals, among others, are read in via the interior CAN:
- Compressed air supply request
- Massage intensity status
- Dynamic function status
Evaluation of input factors
The read in input factors are evaluated by the pneumatic pump for multicontour seat.
Actuation of components
The solenoid valve for draining the compression moisture in the pressure tank is actuated via an internal direct line.
The multicontour seat pneumatic pump does not transmit any requests via the interior CAN. Only information about further processing and information for other control units is sent via the interior CAN.
