| 3 | Disconnect electrical connection from right rear brake wear sensor (S10/4) | If installed. | |
| 4 | Detach right rear brake wear sensor (S10/4) from brake caliper (5) | If installed and only when replacing brake caliper (5). | |

| 6 | Collect any escaping brake fluid using a suitable container | ||

| 10 | Remove brake caliper (5) | Do not subject brake hoses (6) to tensile loads or kink. To relieve stress on the brake hose (6), fasten brake caliper (5) to vehicle free of tension. Otherwise the brake hose (6) will be damaged. |

| 12 | Unscrew screws/bolts securing brake caliper support (7) to rear axle tube and remove brake caliper support (7) | *BA42.10-P-1003-17B | |
| Clean | |||
| 13 | Clean contact surfaces of brake pads (1) in brake caliper (5) | While doing so, do not damage the dust boots on the brake piston. Do not use sharp-edged or pointy tools. Otherwise the brake caliper (5) or brake caliper support (7) will be damaged. |
