REFER TO MAINTENANCE Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary   AP40.10-P-4050G
2 Clean area surrounding cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir
3 Unscrew cap from brake fluid expansion reservoir
4 Connect brake fluid changer to brake fluid expansion reservoir IMPORTANT Observe manufacturer's operating instructions.
5 Unscrew bleed screw on front left brake caliper and connect pressure tester (051) NOTES
Pressure testers for hydraulic oil systems must not be used for systems with brake fluid. Otherwise, the brake fluid may be mixed with mineral oil and this will cause the brake system to malfunction!
IMPORTANT Observe manufacturer's operating instructions.

6 Bleed pressure tester (051)
  High-pressure test
WARNING
7
Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.
Allow the engine to run at moderate speed and release the accelerator pedal suddenly
Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
IMPORTANT In order to produce as high a vacuum as possible in the brake booster.
AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 With the engine running, depress brake pedal as far as possible using the brake pedal jack (080) and apply brake pedal jack (080) NOTES
Cover brake pedal and driver's seat in the contact area of the brake pedal jack (080). Otherwise the brake pedal or the driver seat may be damaged.

9 Read off and note brake pressure on high-pressure gauge of pressure tester (051)
10 Read off and note brake pressure again after 5 minutes on the high-pressure gauge of pressure tester (051) IMPORTANT During the 5 min. duration of the test, the brake pressure may not drop more than 5 %.
  Low-pressure test
11 Switch off engine and operate brake pedal several times until vacuum is reduced
12 Turn back brake pedal winch (080) until a line pressure of approx. 3 bar overpressure is indicated on the pressure gauge
13 Read off and note the brake pressure after 2 minutes on the low pressure gauge of pressure tester (051) IMPORTANT The brake pressure must not drop during the 2 min duration of the test.
14 Remove brake pedal jack (080)
