	Remove/install
1	Open hood.	Model 463.234 as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019 with code ZQ0 (G 500 4x42 )	AR88.40-P-1000GG
2	Clean area around cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir.	Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
3	Unscrew cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid.	This prevents the expansion reservoir overflowing when the brake piston is pushed back.
4	Detach rear wheel and tire assemblies.		AR40.10-P-1100GWX
5	Remove retaining clasp (2).
6	Remove covers (5).
7	Remove guide pins (4).	Bolt, pilot bushing/guide pin to brake caliper support	*BA42.10-P-1002-17B
8	Remove brake caliper (1) and secure free of tension to vehicle with lines still connected.	Do not tension or kink brake hose. Otherwise the brake hose will be damaged.
9	Remove break pads (3) from brake caliper support (6).
10	Unscrew screws (7) of brake caliper support (6) and remove brake caliper support (6).	When replacing the brake caliper support (6).
		Self-locking bolt, brake caliper support to rear axle tube	*BA42.10-P-1003-17B
	Check
11	Check guide pins (4) for ease of movement.	If there is a problem, ↓ Replace brake caliper (1). Model 463.234 as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019 with code ZQ0 (G 500 4x42 )	AR42.10-P-0080GWX
12	Check break pads (3) for wear and condition.
		Model 463.234 up to model year 2019 with code ZQ0 (G 500 4x42 ) Replace break pads (3) as a complete set only. If damage or excessive wear is present, ↓ Replace break pads (3).	AP42.10-P-4252G
13	Check brake disc for wear and condition.
		Model 463.234 as of model year 2012 up to model year 2019 with code ZQ0 (G 500 4x42 ) Replace brake discs as a complete set only. If damage or excessive wear is present, ↓ Replace brake discs.	AP42.10-P-4258G

14	Check brake caliper (1) and dust boots of brake pistons for leak tightness and damage.	If there is a problem, ↓ Replace brake caliper (1).

15	Press back brake piston using pusher tool.	The brake piston must be turned all the way back. Commercially available devices/tools  Counterclockwise brake piston return spring (8) If the brake piston is sluggish, ↓ Replace brake caliper (1).

	Clean
16	Clean contact surfaces of break pads (3) on brake caliper (1), on brake piston and on brake caliper support (6).	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. The brake caliper (1) or the dust boots of the brake pistons can otherwise be damaged.
		Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
17	Install in the reverse order.
18	Operate brake pedal several times until the break pads (3) make contact with the brake discs.	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
	Check
19	Check/correct brake fluid level in expansion reservoir.

20	Perform brake test on test stand.
