2	Clean area around cap on expansion reservoir for brake fluid	Cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1025-04A
3	Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid	This prevents the expansion reservoir overflowing when the brake piston is pushed back.
	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

5	Detach wheel-and-tire assembly at the front		AR40.10-P-1100GWX
6	Detach left front brake wear sensor (8) from electrical connection for left front brake wear sensor (9)
7	Carefully pull left front brake wear sensor (8) out of brake lining (3)
8	Remove bolt (7) and pull support (4) out of spring steel sheet (5)	Bolt for anti-rattle spring support	*BA42.10-P-1006-02B
9	Remove spring steel sheet (5)
10	Remove break pads (3) from brake caliper (1)	Only break pads (3) approved by Mercedes-Benz may be installed, and only as complete sets. Do not apply brake paste or lubricants to the break pads (3) and brake calipers (1).
	Check
11	Check spring steel sheet (5) and support (4) for damage and condition	If a problem arises ↓ Replace spring steel sheet (5) or support (4)
12	Check brake linings (3) for wear and condition

15	Press back brake piston using resetting device	Secure remaining brake pistons using two wedges against slipping out.

	Clean
16	Clean contact surfaces of brake linings (3) on brake caliper (1) and brake piston	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. The brake caliper (1) or the dust boots of the brake pistons can otherwise be damaged.

17	Install in the reverse order
18	Operate the brake pedal several times until brake linings (3) contact the brake discs	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
