Remove CROSSMEMBER - Ar64.20-P-1060-10XG

Model 463 as of model year 2019 

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service information as well as the safety information must be observed.

  1. Mark separating point on crossmember (3) and cut (area A).
  2. Expose and cut off spot welds at crossmember (3) (areas B).

    IMPORTANT Dimensions:

    a = approx. 65 mm

  3. Expose and cut off spot welds at crossmember (3) (area C).
  4. Expose spot weld at crossmember (3) and drill out from inside with Ø 6.5 mm (area E).

    IMPORTANT Spot weld is not visible from outside.

  5. Heat crossmember (3) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  6. Remove crossmember (3).

  7. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  8. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  9. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

NOTES Do not apply zinc dust paint to bonding surfaces (area D).

Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
