Partially Install Rear Floor Assembly - Ar64.20-P-1310-04XG

Model 463 as of model year 2019

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

Additional information can be found in the service information.

The safety information must be observed.

  1. Install, fit longitudinal member (2) and fix in place with screw (4).

  2. Longitudinal member (2) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area A).

    IMPORTANT Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.

  3. Surface-grind inert gas weld on longitudinal member (2) (area A).

    IMPORTANT Only surface-grind at contact surfaces of rear-end floor (area A).

  4. Install rear-end floor (1), fit and fix in place.
  5. Install, fit and fix in place crossmember.
  6. Bend down wheel arch flange.
  7. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with Ø 6.7 mm (areas B).
  8. Bend up wheel arch flange again.
  9. Remove rear-end floor (1) and crossmember.
  10. Deburr rivet holes on rear-end floor (1) and body on both sides.
  11. Remove drilling chips.

  12. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Apply 2-component adhesive at underside (area C). 2-component adhesive must also be applied on bent up wheel arch flange.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  13. Install rear floor (1) and fix in place.
  14. Bend down wheel arch flange.
  15. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with rivets Ø 6.5x12.5 (areas D).
  16. Rear-end floor (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area F).
  17. Rear-end floor (1) (areas E).

    IMPORTANT Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.

  18. Surface-grind inert gas welds on rear-end floor (1) (areas E).

    IMPORTANT Only surface-grind at fold areas, at contact surfaces of battery box and rear-end center section (areas E).

  19. Weld in rear floor (1) with POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area G).

  20. Tighten screw (4) on longitudinal member (2). Model 463 as of model year 2019 TORQUE SPECIFICATION

  21. Install, fit and fix in place battery box (5).
  22. Install, fit and fix in place reinforcement (3).
  23. Reinforcement (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area H).
