Install Cross Member And Weld In - Ar64.20-P-1060-03XG

Model 463 as of model year 2019 

IMPORTANT The safety information in the supporting service vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The following operation steps are shown on the left side and must be observed.

  1. Install crossmember, fit, and fix in place (3).
  2. Drill rivet holes in crossmember (3) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas A).
  3. Drill rivet hole in crossmember (3) with a diameter of 6.7 mm through the available hole in the body (area F).
  4. Remove crossmember (3).
  5. Deburr rivet holes on crossmember (3) and body on both sides.
  6. Remove drilling chips.
  7. Coat with zinc dust paint insides of those riveted joints that will not be bonded.

  8. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  9. Install crossmember (3) and fix in place.
  10. Rivet crossmember (3) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x12.5 (areas B and G).
  11. Rivet crossmember (3) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 (area C).
  12. Crossmember (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas D).
  13. Crossmember (3) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area E).

    IMPORTANT Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.

  14. Surface grind inert gas weld joint on the contact surfaces of the upper section rear-end center section and lower section rear-end center section (area E).
