	Preparatory activity
1	Prepare vehicle for checking/correcting headlamp adjustment.		AP82.10-P-8260-10GA
2	Determine degree of inclination for main headlamps. Notes on determining headlamp aiming values	The degree of inclination for the main headlamps is specified on the model plate on the B-pillar on the driver side.	AH82.10-P-1005-01A
3	Adjust specified degree of inclination for main headlamps at headlamp adjuster (01).

4	Switch on low beams.	When testing and adjusting the low beams make sure that the extended fog light function is not  active.
5	Open hood.
	Check and, if necessary, adjust (checking and adjusting the low beams is described at the left low beam (E1e2) in the left front lamp unit (E1), use procedure for left side for right side too.)
6	Check height adjustment of left low beam (E1 e2), adjust if necessary.
	000 588 11 21 00 Adjustment device	When the diagnostic light pattern is switched on and the height adjustment is correct, the horizontal light/dark boundary (1) of the left low beam (E1e2) must be congruent with the datum line for height adjustment (2) in the headlamp adjuster (01) respectively to the left of the center mark (3). The colored area of the light-dark boundary (1) of the left low beam headlamp (E1e2) must be above the reference line for the height adjustment (2). If the height adjustment of the left low beam (E1 e2) is correct with the diagnostic light pattern switched on, ↓ no further check is necessary; continue with operation step 7. If the height adjustment of the left low beam (E1 e2) is not correct with the diagnostic light pattern switched on, ↓ turn the adjustment screw for the height adjustment (H) to correct the height adjustment of the left low beam headlamp (E1e2). 7	Check lateral adjustment of left low beam (E1e2).

		When the diagnostic light pattern is switched on and the lateral adjustment is correct, the vertical light/dark boundary (1) of the left low beam (E1e2) must run upward at a 900 angle relative to the datum line for the height adjustment (2) in the headlamp adjuster (01) starting at the center mark (3). The colored area of the vertical light-dark boundary (1) of the left low beam headlamp (E1e2) must be to the left of the center mark (3). If the lateral adjustment of the left low beam (E1e2) is correct, ↓ no further check necessary, continue with operation step 8. If the lateral adjustment of the left low beam (E1e2) is not correct, ↓ check and correct installation position of the corresponding headlamp subject to separate repair order; then proceed with operation steps 1 to 7 again. 	Finishing activity
8	Reset switch positions to input condition.	Only if the high beam setting is not to be checked afterwards.
9	Close hood.
