| Remove/install | |||
| 1 | Release motor control module bracket and place to one side. | AR07.08-P-7016MNE | |
| 2 | Release engine wiring harness bracket (1) at (arrow) from shield (2) and place to one side. | ||
| 3 | Remove screws of bracket (6). | *BA00.10-P-1002-04A | |
| 4 | Disconnect vacuum hose (8) from vacuum pump (7), place to one side and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. | Fig 2 | |
| 5 | Unclip vacuum hose (3) from the cylinder head cover and place to one side. | ||
| 6 | Remove screws (4). | *BA15.10-P-1001-04D | |
| 7 | Withdraw ignition coil for cylinders 1+2 (T4) upwards and remove. | ||
| 8 | Withdraw ignition coil for cylinders 3+4 (T4/1) upwards and remove. | ||
| 9 | Check ignition coil for cylinders 1+ 2 (T4) and ignition coil for cylinders 3+ 4 (T4/1) for damage. | If problems exist, ↓ Replace the appropriate ignition coil (T4 or T4/1). |

| 10 | Discharge approx. Apply about 1 g of spark plug connector grease to the spark plug connector. | Apply spark plug connector grease to reduce pull-off and attachment forces Otherwise the spark plug connectors will be damaged upon renewed removal. |
