| 1 | Remove front bumper (1). | AR88.20-P-2000FR | |
| 2 | Disconnect electrical connectors on front bumper pedestrian protection sensors (B151/1, B151/3). | ||
| 3 | Take hose (2) out of groove of impact absorber (3). | Otherwise the pedestrian protection system may malfunction. The hose (2) must be seated at the same depth in the groove across the entire length of the impact absorber (3). |

| 4 | Check impact absorber (3) for damage or deformation. | ||
| Topical note | General information on the impact absorber | If there is a problem, ↓ Replace impact absorber (3). |

| 5 | Remove front bumper pedestrian protection sensors (B151/1, B151/3) together with hose (2). | Otherwise the pedestrian protection system may malfunction. |
