Remove/Install Crash Sensor - AR91.60-P-0950FR

Model 257, 290 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove front bumper (1).   AR88.20-P-2000FR
2 Disconnect electrical connectors on front bumper pedestrian protection sensors (B151/1, B151/3).    
3 Take hose (2) out of groove of impact absorber (3). INSTALLATION NOTES Ensure that the hose (2) is correctly seated in groove of impact absorber (3). The hose (2) must be routed in the groove free of tension or kinks.
Otherwise the pedestrian protection system may malfunction.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Position hose (2) as deep as possible in groove of impact absorber (3).
The hose (2) must be seated at the same depth in the groove across the entire length of the impact absorber (3).
 
4 Check impact absorber (3) for damage or deformation.    
Topical note  General information on the impact absorber If there is a problem,

Replace impact absorber (3).

5 Remove front bumper pedestrian protection sensors (B151/1, B151/3) together with hose (2). NOTES The front bumper pedestrian protection sensors (B151/1, B151/3) are permanently connected to the hose (2) and must not be separated.
Otherwise the pedestrian protection system may malfunction.
 
    IMPORTANT Model 290
with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood)
The front bumper pedestrian protection sensors (B151/1, B151/3) are secured onto the front bumper (1) with a rivet.
 
6 Install in the reverse order.
