The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Install rear center section (1) and fit.
- Install trunk lid seal.
- Install striker eye.
- Check gap dimensions using
feeler gauge and adjust.
- Fix rear center section (1) in place.
- Remove trunk lid seal.
- Remove striker eye.
- Drill rivet holes in rear-end center section (1) with Ø 6.7 mm through existing holes in body and deburr (areas A).
- Remove rear center section (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on rear center section (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drill chips.
- Coat insides of riveted joints that will not be bonded with zinc dust paint.
- Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched areas on body.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install rear center section (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet rear-end center section (1) with Ø 6.4x14.0 mm countersunk-head blind rivets (areas C).
