DC/AC Converter Function - GF54.10-P-2005RF

Model 205, 253

with code U67 (230 V socket in interior compartment)

Model 205, 253

with code U80 (115 V socket)

Function requirements, general

IMPORTANT The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) sends the status of circuit 15 to the rear SAM control unit (N10/8) over the interior CAN (CAN B).

The rear SAM control unit switches on the rear SAM control unit for the DC/AC converter control unit (N24/3) via the rear fuse and relay module (K40/5).

DC/AC converter, general

The 115 V power socket (X58/34) (with code U80 (115V socket)) provides a 115 V AC voltage.

The 230V socket (X58/44) (with code U67 (230 volt socket in interior)) provides a 230 V AC voltage.

Only small electrical devices may be connected. The maximum available electrical continuous load is 150 W; up to 300 W is permissible briefly for 2 s.

DC/AC converter function

Plugging a consumer into the socket is detected by a microswitch. The DC/AC converter control unit supplies the microswitch with voltage. If a consumer is connected to the socket, this voltage is switched through to the control input of the DC/AC converter control unit. The DC/AC converter control unit converts the on-board electrical system direct voltage into an AC voltage and supplies power to the socket. An LED in the socket indicates the availability of the AC voltage.

If the interior temperature of the DC/AC converter control unit rises above a defined limit value or if the output load exceeds the overload threshold of P = 300 W for 2 s, the DC/AC converter control unit switches off. A calculation method stored in the DC/AC converter control unit prevents the power inverter from repeatedly switching on and off, when the output load is close to the respective limit value. If undervoltage is detected by the energy management system, the DC/AC converter control unit is switched off, thereby interrupting the power supply to the socket.
