MODIFICATION NOTES

16.03.2022 If there is a problem, replace corresponding brake disk. Operation step 5.

DANGER Risk Of Accident  When commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
WARNING Risk Of Injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk Of Injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

CAUTION Risk Of Poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk Of Injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
1 Remove brake hose (6).   AR42.10-P-0013LW 
2 Remove electrical connector of front right brake lining wear sensor at brake caliper (1). When removing brake caliper (1) on right side of vehicle.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 205 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake
 
    Model 253 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (AMG High-Performance Braking System) except code U70 (AMG High-Performance Composite Braking System) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake Bolt, brake wear sensor to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1002-10W 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 213 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake Bolt, brake wear sensor to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1002-10X 
3 Remove brake pads (2) and brake caliper (1).   AR42.10-P-1610LWC 
INSPECT Check     
4 Check brake caliper (1) and dust boots of brake pistons for leak tightness and damage. If there is a problem,

Replace brake caliper (1).
INSTALLATION NOTES
The new brake caliper (1) is shipped in prefilled condition and it may not be drained. Otherwise the brake caliper (1) cannot be vented.
 
5 Check brake disk for wear and condition.   AR42.10-P-0270RG 
    If there is a problem,

Replace corresponding brake disk.
 
      AR42.10-P-0220EWE 
6 Install in the reverse order.    
  Concluding Tasks     
7 Bleed brake system. Model 205 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake Model 253 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (AMG High-Performance Braking System) except code U70 (AMG High-Performance Composite Braking System) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake AR42.10-P-0010LW 
    Model 213 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake Ar42.10-P-0010Lwe
8 Operate brake pedal several times until the brake linings (2) make contact with the brake disks. IMPORTANT Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.  
9 Check and correct brake fluid level in brake fluid expansion reservoir.

DANGER Risk Of Death  Caused by limbs being caught or crushed by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the emergency off switch to shut down test stand. AS42.00-Z-0001-01A 
10 Perform brake test on test stand.
