Model 205 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system) except code B06 (Silver brake calipers) except code U70 (red-painted brake callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake 

Model 213 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system) except code B06 (Silver brake calipers) except code U70 (red-painted brake callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake 

Model 253 with code B07 (AMG - ceramic brake system) except code B06 (AMG high-performance braking system) except code U70 (AMG high-performance composite braking system) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake 

MODIFICATION NOTES

17.12.2021 If there is a problem, replace corresponding brake disk. Operation step 13.

DANGER Risk Of Accident  When commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
WARNING Risk Of Injury.  Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
CAUTION Risk Of Poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk Of Injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/Install     
1 Open service flap above expansion reservoir for brake fluid.    
2 Clean area around cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir. Assembly cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
3 Unscrew cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid. IMPORTANT This prevents the expansion reservoir overflowing when the brake piston is pushed back.  
4 Remove front wheels.   AR40.10-P-1102A
5 Expose electric line of front right brake pad wear sensor, then release and disconnect electrical connector. IMPORTANT Ensure that electric line of front right brake lining wear sensor is routed correctly  
6 Press back brake pistons slightly using pusher tool. IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Position pusher tool at the elevations (arrows) of the brake linings (2).

7 Remove screws (5).    
Notice  Notes on threaded connections fastened using a tightening angle-based tightening process   AH00.00-P-0020-01A
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace screw/bolts (5).
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 205 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake
Model 253 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (AMG High-Performance Braking System) except code U70 (AMG High-Performance Composite Braking System) bolt, brake caliper/brake caliper support to steering knuckle		 *BA42.10-P-1001-10W 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 213 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake bolt, brake caliper/brake caliper support to steering knuckle *BA42.10-P-1001-10X 
8 Unhook brake hose (6) from holder at steering knuckle and suspension strut.    
9 Remove brake caliper (1) from wheel carrier and secure it free of tension to vehicle with lines connected. NOTES Do not subject brake hose (6) and electric line to tension and do not kink them. The brake hose (6) and the electric line may otherwise be damaged.  
10 Press brake linings (2) against force of retaining springs (3) off screw bolts (4) and remove from brake caliper (1). IMPORTANT Do not release or remove screw bolts (4).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : do not apply brake paste or lubricants to brake linings (2) or brake calipers (1).
Only install brake linings (2) approved by mercedes-benz as a set.		  
INSPECT Check     
11 Check condition of retaining springs (3) and check for damage. If there is a problem,
↓
Replace retaining springs (3).		  
12 Check brake linings (2) for wear and check their condition.

REFER TO MAINTENANCE   Model 205 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake AP42.10-P-4252CAA
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   Model 213 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake
If There Is Damage Or Excessive Wear,
↓
Replace Brake Linings (2).
IMPORTANT Replace brake linings (2) as a set only.		 AP42.10-P-4252E
13 Check brake disks on front axle.   AR42.10-P-0270RG 
    IF there is a problem,
↓
Replace corresponding brake disk.		 AR42.10-P-0220EWE 
14 Check brake caliper (1) and dust boots of brake piston for leak tightness and damage. If there is a problem,
↓
Replace brake caliper (1).		 AR42.10-P-0070LWC 
15 Press back brake pistons with pusher tool. IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Attach pusher tool onto brake piston. secure remaining brake pistons using two SPECIAL TOOL Wedges against slipping out.

    If the brake pistons can only be moved sluggishly,
↓
Replace brake caliper (1).		 AR42.10-P-0070LWC 
CLEAN Clean     
16 Clean contact surfaces of brake linings (2) on brake caliper (1) and on brake pistons. NOTES Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise, the brake caliper (1) or the dust boots of the brake pistons may be damaged.
Assembly cleaner		 *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A 
17 Pull front right brake lining wear sensor out of backing plate of brake lining (2). When replacing brake linings (2) or when replacing front right brake lining wear sensor.
IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation location of front right brake lining wear sensor.		  
18 Install in the reverse order.    
19 Operate brake pedal several times until the brake linings (2) make contact with the brake disks. IMPORTANT Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.  
INSPECT Check     
20   Check/correct brake fluid level in expansion reservoir.

REFER TO MAINTENANCE   Model 213 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (Silver Brake Calipers) except code U70 (Red-Painted Brake Callipers) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake Model 253 with code B07 (AMG - Ceramic Brake System) except code B06 (AMG High-Performance Braking System) except code U70 (AMG High-Performance Composite Braking System) 6-piston fixed-caliper brake Ap42.10-P-4210B
