	Risk Of Accident When commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work.	Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system.	AS42.50-Z-0002-01A

	Remove
1	Remove cover above brake fluid expansion reservoir
2	Clean area around cap on expansion reservoir for brake fluid	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
3	Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid	This prevents the expansion reservoir overflowing when the brake piston is pushed back (7).
4	Remove front wheels		AR40.10-P-1102A
5	Detach electrical line of front right brake wear sensor (S10/2) from bracket (1)	Pay attention to the routing of the electrical line of the right front brake pad wear sensor (S10/2).
6	Detach front right brake wear sensor (S10/2) From electrical connection
7	Unscrew bolt (2)
8	Release outer brake lining (6) from brake caliper (4)	The outer brake pad (6) is bonded and if the bonding is detached, the brake pads (6) must be replaced.
9	Fold back brake caliper (4)	Do not subject the brake hose and electrical line to tension and do not kink them. The brake hose and the electrical line can otherwise be damaged.
10	Remove brake pads (6)
11	Remove spring steel sheets from brake caliper support (5)	Model 205, 253
12	Pull right front brake wear sensor (S10/2) From pad backing plate of brake lining (6)	Pay attention to the installation location of the right front brake pad wear sensor (S10/2).
	Check
13		Check brake disk for wear and condition	AP42.10-P-4256EW
		Replace brake disks as a complete set only.
		In event of damage or excessive wear ↓ Replace brake disks.	AR42.10-P-0220EWE
14	Check brake caliper (4) with detachable parts for damage	If a problem arises ↓ Replace Corresponding Components.	AR42.10-P-0070LW
15	Check brake caliper support (5) for damage	If a problem arises Replace brake caliper support (5).	AR42.10-P-0070LW
16	Push back brake piston (7) using pusher tool (01)	Resetting device	Fig 1
		if the brake piston (7) is sluggish ↓ Replace brake caliper (4).	AR42.10-P-0070LW
	Clean
17	Clean contact surfaces of brake linings (6) on brake caliper (4) and on brake caliper support (5)	Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. otherwise, the dust boot, brake caliper (4) or the brake caliper support (5) may be damaged. Adhesive residue must be completely removed from the contact surfaces of the brake caliper (4). assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
	Install
18	Connect right front brake pad wear sensor (S10/2) to backing plate of brake pad (6)
19	Apply brake paste to brake caliper support (5)	Brake paste, Varybond	AR42.10-P-0163-01LW *BR00.45-Z-1072-06A
20	Remove protective foils from bonding surfaces of brake pads (6)
21	Insert spring steel sheets at brake caliper support (5)	Model 205, 253
22	Insert brake pads (6)	No brake paste or lubricants must be applied to the brake pads (6). Only sets of brake pads (6) approved by mercedes-benz may be installed.
23	Insert brake caliper (4)	No brake paste or lubricants must be applied to the brake calipers (4).
24	Tighten screw (2)	Model 213 Guide pin to brake caliper support or bolt for guide pin to brake caliper	*BA42.10-P-1004-10X
		Model 205 (except 205.086/087/286/287/386/387/486/487) Model 253 Guide pin to brake caliper support or bolt for guide pin to brake caliper	*BA42.10-P-1005-10W
25	Connect right front brake pad wear sensor (s10/2) to electrical connector
26	Fasten electrical line of right front brake pad wear sensor (s10/2) on bracket (1)
27	Install front wheels		AR40.10-P-1102A
28	Operate brake pedal several times until brake pads (6) contact brake disks
	Check
29	Check and correct brake fluid level in expansion reservoir
