CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

  Preparation     
1 Prepare adhesive cartridge.   AR77.21-P-1000-01A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Fig 3
REMOVING Remove     
2 Remove drip rails.   AR88.80-P-4000MFA
3 Switch on ignition.    
4 Fully open panoramic sliding sunroof.    
5 Open side window in driver door. IMPORTANT So that the freshly glued in front fixed element (4) of panoramic sliding sunroof is not pressed outwards due to the air pressure when doors are closed.  
6 Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m).    
7 Remove front sliding sunroof sealing lip (2).   AR77.21-P-0560MFA 
8 Fix side seal (3) in place on left and right with suitable tape. Adhesive fabric tape *BR00.45-Z-1062-02A 
9 Fix seal (1) on upper windshield using suitable tape. Adhesive fabric tape *BR00.45-Z-1062-02A 
10 Mask off adjacent paint surfaces with tape. Adhesive fabric tape *BR00.45-Z-1062-02A 
WARNING Risk of injury  caused by slipping when clamping blade in the multicutter and by splinters when cutting out bonded components Wear cut-proof gloves and safety glasses.
Always interrupt air or current supply when changing the cutting blade.

11 Cut through adhesive bead (5) of front stationary element (4) of the panoramic sliding sunroof and remove front stationary element (4) from the vehicle.   AR77.21-P-0803-01MFA 
    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
Oscillating saw with round sawing blade
IMPORTANT Helper required.

INSTALLING Install

12 Prepare front fixed element (4) of panoramic sliding sunroof for installation.   AR77.21-P-0803-02MFA 
    NOTES
Before starting work, all component parts, materials, and tools must be prepared for the installation of the front stationary element (4).
Otherwise it may not be possible to maintain permissible processing and joining times.
NOTES
Only use the repair kit approved by the manufacturer from the replacement part system. 
Otherwise, the front stationary element (4) and the panorama roof frame will have adhesion problems. 
IMPORTANT Helper required.
IMPORTANT Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing time of the adhesive material.
 
    Distance between top edge of window and front edge of roof/sliding roof aperture panel *BE67.10-P-1001-02C 
    Adhesive fabric tape *BR00.45-Z-1062-02A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
13 Prepare body flange for front stationary element (4) of the panoramic sliding sunroof for installation.   AR77.21-P-0803-03MFA 
Topical note  General notes about painting the body flange in the glazing area   AH98.00-P-9408-06A
    NOTES
Only use the repair kit approved by the manufacturer from the replacement part system. 
Otherwise, the front stationary element (4) and the panorama roof frame will have adhesion problems. 
 
WARNING Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling vapors or swallowing adhesive. Risk of injury  caused by adhesive coming into contact with skin and eyes Wear respiratory protection, protective gloves and safety glasses. Pour adhesive into suitable and appropriately marked containers only. AS00.00-Z-0016-01A
14 Apply adhesive material for front stationary element (4) of the panoramic sliding sunroof.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 00 72 00 Sealing and corrosion protection gun   WS97.00-P-0001B
      AR77.21-P-0803-04MFA 
    NOTES
Apply adhesive material as quickly as possible and position front stationary element (4) on the body flange and fix it in place.
Otherwise, the strength of the adhesively bonded connection is impaired and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not guaranteed.
NOTES
Only use the repair kit approved by the manufacturer from the replacement part system. 
Otherwise, the front stationary element (4) and the panorama roof frame will have adhesion problems. 
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Fig 3
15 Install front stationary element (4) of the panoramic sliding sunroof. NOTES
The vehicle must not be driven for at least 3 hours after gluing in the front stationary element (4).
Otherwise, the strength of the adhesively bonded connection is impaired and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not guaranteed.
NOTES
To load front stationary element (4), use weights with large surfaces, e.g. sandbags. Otherwise, front stationary element (4) will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Helper required.

16 Install front sliding sunroof sealing lip (2).   AR77.21-P-0560MFA 
17 Install drip rails.   AR88.80-P-4000MFA
  Concluding tasks     
18 Normalize panoramic sliding sunroof with diagnostic system and perform teach-in run for automatic reversing function.
